Video Game Stock THQ (THQI)

The first company in my lineup of all star video game stocks is THQ. I like THQ because of its diverse line of video games whose titles range from Cars to Full Spectrum Warrior. THQ is doing a great job at reaching out to multiple age ranges, though admittedly their games are geared more towards the 12 and under crowd.
They’re also releasing their child and preteen games across multiple gaming platforms. I know it’s hard to believe that parents are going to shell out $50 for 10 hours of game play for their child, but the past performance of other blockbuster animated feature movie-game adaptations says they will. “Mommy I want one” is still one of the most powerful selling strategies that exists.
I do have a few reservations. When I wrote this article THQI was trading near it’s 52-week high. I suggest waiting for it to drop off in price before making a purchase. My second concern is the extremely high P/E punching around 1/73.
